Three-Month Intensive In-Resident Training Program

When: March 15 - June 15, 2021 (Session One)
Location: Xuan Ju Daoist Center, Francestown, New Hampshire

What is it?  Daoist Spiritual Master Zhou Xuan Yun's Three-Month Intensive training in Wudang Kung Fu forms, Taiji, Qigong, Xing Yi, Bagua Zhang, and Wudang weapons. The three-month program is scaffolded and incremented into a series of training/sessions and will be offered on a regular basis. In this way, you can pick up where you left off and continue wherever you are in your training. Shifu Zhou hopes that this flexibility will provide a choice for his students with different working schedules and priorities. If teaching is your passion, it is a great pathway towards your Daoist Gate Teacher Certification.

Details: Patterned after the intensive training programs in the Wudang Mountains, this program has one distinctive difference. Student interns will be trained personally by Shifu Zhou, himself, not by coaches. In answer to the different needs of students interested in Wudang healing arts, Shifu Zhou offers different learning modalities to include intensive and immersive programs. Intensive training has been proven to make a deep mark on students' personal journeys. The immersion is profoundly lasting and it widens the scope of how students see their role as a martial artist and teacher. This is what Shifu Zhou hopes to bring to his students.

He also recognizes that travel and training in China are not attainable for many; hence, he is offering an increment of a three-month stay at Xuan Ju solely for the purpose of training. Imagine training for an extended period of time, unfettered and detached from the outside world under the tutelage of Shifu Zhou. You will have one-on-one interaction with Shifu Zhou for an extended period of time to learn not only the principles and mechanics of these martial arts practices but also the essence of the Dao – its cultural, historical, and religious heritage.

The curriculum for this program will be tailored according to the background and training of what the students have already attained.  Shifu Zhou will assess and screen new students to ascertain what level they are in their studies and what appropriate curriculum should be applicable for them. For returning students to the intensive, the program will continue according to the individual training needs and goals.

Living Arrangements
Xuan Ju Daoist Center can accommodate 8 pupils at the same time even with COVID distancing guidelines. The center has several rooms so pupils can have a space of their own during downtime: the meditation room, the library, the family room, the sitting room, including the kitchen, dining room, private room, and a small individual practice room (at the basement). The grounds of Xuan Ju are immense and the surrounding areas are ideal for walks and exploration. In these three-months, Shifu Zhou will share not only the aspects of physical training but the mental and spiritual facets the underpin the Daoist thoughts. Daily interactions and discussions when sharing meals and cups of tea. It will be simple living in the monastic tradition where everyone will be sharing the responsibility for cooking meals, cleaning, washing, and maintaining Xuan Ju, just like home.
