Xing Yi Quan is one of the three famous Chinese internal martial arts.  known for its simplicity, practicality, and strength building capacity, Xing Yi Quan gives you the ability to strike and advance at the same time during combat. Xing Yi Quan is the multifaceted martial art. Where blocks contain strikes and strikes contain blocks. Xing Yi Quan advances forcefully, strikes hard and changes direction as fast as thunder and lightning. That is why ,Xing Yi Quan ,is one of my favorite internal martian arts. It allows me to combine structure and mind together. This type of striking and advancing at same time can build up our spirit and courage. Before class, students may have a lack of energy, but  after practicing Xing Yi Quan, they are overflowing with strength and vitality.

Xing Yi Quan evolved out of the practice of Xin Yi Liu He Quan (Intention and Six Harmonies fist).  Also in some places  known as Intention Fist, or the Moving Fist.  Xing Yi honors the Yue Fei, Boddhidharma, and Zhang San Feng as ancestors, but can be traced back to a man named Ji Ji Ke from Shanxi in the early Qing Dynasty.  Legend has it that Ji Ji Ke who was skilled at Six Harmony style spear,  came across a military treatise written by Yue Fei known as the "Book of Wu Mu".  Ji Ji Ke then combined his spear fighting techniques with the military theory from Yue Fei's treatise, and Bodhidharma's teaching that all change originates in the heart. These mixed together with Daoist theory of yin and yang,  the generative and destructive cycles of the five phases and Zhang San Feng’s ideas on qigong and wellness practices, they became an art called Six Harmonies Intention Fist.
